How To Make Soap From Bio Diesel Glycerin By Product

When producing Biodiesel at home after all the filtering and washing you are left with two "products" of the process. The Bio Diesel and Glycerin.

Here is just under a litre of Glycerin, this may still contain methanol and some soap makers suggest that this should be washed as well to get rid of the methanol.

However as the glycerin needs to be heated in order for it to react and turn into soap. Here is a good video on how the soap making process works.

At the moment I am collecting glycerin when I have 5 litres or so I will post the results of my soap making!
